QQI Level 5 Nursing Studies
The programme is designed to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the Theoretical knowledge, Practical and caring Skills and competencies in basic nursing studies in a manner which reflects best current practice. Nursing Studies is structured to provide a foundation in the theory and practice of health science for learners with potential for academic progression routes in nursing and related health studies in Universities and Institutes of Technology in Ireland and the UK.
Overall the programme is based on duration of 1200 hours (typical learner effort); to include 400 directed learning hours and 800 self-directed learning.
